Courses and Tutorials
We offer a range of hands-on jewellery making courses with classes available to suit all abilities, from the complete beginner to the more advanced jewellery maker wanting to learn new techniques. Class sizes are small and courses can often be tailored to your specific needs. At the end of the course you will go away with a piece of jewellery (or more) to enjoy and show off to friends and family.
Our jewellery making courses are run by Ros, and classes are taught at her home studio in a very relaxed and informal setting with a ready supply of coffee and biscuits! We have a very friendly and nosy cat who will quite often pop in to examine whatever it is we’re working on and a fun loving, mischievous black lurcher puppy called Roxy. If you’re not a fan of animals let us know in advance and we can make arrangements for them.
We use Precious Metal Clay (also known as pmc, silver clay or Artclay), it is an amazing, innovative product which enables you to make real silver jewellery without the need for expensive specialist equipment.
Silver Clay consists of fine particles of silver suspended in an organic binder, which has the consistency and properties of traditional clay.
It can be rolled, stamped, textured, folded and molded to create a wide array of shapes and designs. Once dry the clay is fired under intense heat, the binder burns away, leaving you with a perfect piece of jewellery in solid 99.9% pure fine silver.
We hold valid public liability insurance and an up to date DBS certificate.
